Hill Country State Natural Area

Hill Country State Natural Area is located in the Cowboy Capital of the World – Bandera, Texas, about 60 miles northwest of San Antonio. If you're in search of quintessential rolling Texas Hill Country views, this park is for you!

 

The State Natural Area is largely untouched by modern development and remains true to its former ranching roots, providing an authentic escape in the Texas Hill Country. Hikers, backpackers, equestrians, mountain bikers, day visitors, and campers will enjoy exploring over 40 miles of multi-use trails while wandering through open fields, creek beds, woodlands, and climbing rocky limestone hills. 

Visitors seeking to enjoy the extensive equestrian trails can arrange horseback rides via one of the park's Guide Service Providers or by visiting one of the many nearby "dude ranches".

Downtown Bandera is a short 20-minute drive from the park providing easy access to restaurants, bars, shopping

and more to complete the perfect getaway or day trip!
